Stars including Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth and Judd Apatow have signed a petition urging New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to reverse his administration's decision to cut funding to two agencies dedicated to helping NYC foster children find homes.

The decision, which risks 1300 children not finding homes and facing homelessness after turning 18, 'ageing out' of the foster care system and no longer being cared for by the state, has also been opposed by Lauren Graham, Debra Messing, Josh Gad and Perez Hilton. The petition was raised by SiriusXF Broadway host Seth Rudetsky and his husband James Wesley after their attempt to adopt was halted by the decision to cut funding to agencies the New York Council on Adoptable Children and You Gotta Believe.
